About Us

CW Energy was established in 1990 by a team of professionals who had previously worked together in the corporate tax department of one of the Big 4 accounting firms, specialising in oil and gas taxation.

Since then the team have continued to work together to build up a reputation of timely, high quality services, giving excellent value for money. As we do not have the multiple hierarchical layers common in larger firms, we can guarantee you a day-to-day contact with the most senior member of the team allocated to look after your interests.

Our client service-orientated approach draws on the considerable experience of all our staff, in many cases gained over more than 30 years working in the oil and gas sector. Our extensive client base extends from small start-up operations to the majors to whom we offer innovative solutions supported by a sound technical base.

Our partners are well known in the industry; regularly participating in the industry tax committees and contributing to lobbying the government in respect of technical issues in the interests of our clients. Our partners also contribute to technical publications on matters affecting the oil and gas sector.

CW Energy, London Office

CW Energy specialise in advice on Corporation Tax (CT), Supplementary Charge (SC) and Petroleum Revenue Tax (PRT).

Our advice encompasses all corporate tax issues arising on corporate mergers & acquisitions, farm-outs, and asset acquisitions and disposals, including such areas as financing, transfer pricing, and international taxation.

We can also advise on Value Added Tax (VAT), and Stamp Duties.

As many of the corporate tax and international tax issues are common to other sectors, we are able to utilise our expertise in other industries and have a number of non oil and gas clients.

Having large-firm experience, but in a small-firm environment, we provide a top-quality, proactive, value-for-money service.

With CW Energy, you will always have access to, and be able to discuss your issues with, the partner in charge of your client team. We are usually more than happy to give our immediate view on most matters in the course of an initial telephone conversation, and will always try to give clear, definite and commercially sound advice in a format that most suits you.

To find out more about us and an initial conversation, please contact Paul Rogerson or any of our consultants whose details can be found on our People page.
